In September 2004, Chiva-Som joined forces with British Airways; the World's Favourite Airline to provide spa cuisine dishes for its First class passengers on selected flights to New York (JFK) and Bangkok.
British Airways remains the only airline to
introduce spa cuisine on its flights offering greater choice and
flexibility and responding to the changing lifestyles of its customers.
With an increasing focus on well-being, the Chiva-Som meal option provides
indulgent cuisine for the more health conscious customers. Chiva-Som's
award-winning spa cuisine draws on the fundaments of Thai culinary art to
deliver light, easily digestible dishes that will leave passengers feeling
comfortable in-flight and more energized on arrival. The food offers real
benefits to flyers providing plenty of hydration in-flight and encouraging
a good night's sleep.
The dishes include spiced grilled beef salad with
Siamese herbs and roasted marinated salmon with green papaya salad.
Mouth-watering dessert options include ricotta mousse with mango and
chocolate mousse with fresh berries.
Customer feedback has shown that Chiva-Som's food
is extremely popular and it has now been extended to all services from
London to Dubai, Melbourne, Newark, Sydney, Singapore, Miami, Hong Kong,
