Because a stay at Chiva-Som is different to anywhere else, we'd like to paint a picture of what to expect from arrival and thereafter, including newly introduced hygiene measures to ensure your safety.

Limousine Transportation

Limousine drivers are tested for COVID-19 and receive daily thermal screening in addition to wearing PPE.  In VIP sedans, a screen has been installed to separate the front and rear seats.  Larger luxury vans are also available. 

Upon Arrival

Thermal scanning and a screening questionnaire have been implemented within the reception area.  Hand sanitizer and face masks are provided.

Welcome & Check-in

Welcome and breathe - with a garland of fresh jasmine and rose flowers.   A signature lemongrass tea and a cold towel are served in the open-air lounge overlooking the lake.

On to your Room

Buggies are disinfected after each use, and a screen has been deployed between the front and rear passenger seats. All luggage is sanitised by UV scanning prior to delivery.

Your Guestroom

Rooms are deep-cleaned and sanitised with UV Clean Disinfection Lights at least 48 hours prior to use.  Amenities such stationery, resort information and mini-bar contents will be freshly provisioned.  A Hygiene pack which includes a mask, hand gel and alcohol wipes is provided along with a rubbish bin for disposing of used tissues or masks.    Staff providing service will be wearing face masks, gloves and other protective clothing.

Your Consultation

Once settled in and refreshed, you'll meet your Health and Wellness Advisor for a consultation.  The Advisor will discuss your medical history and help identify and prioritise your goals, and then work with you to fine tune your treatment programme.  Your treatments are booked and a dietary programme is established and communicated to the Chiva-Som kitchen, with special care taken to share information about allergies, intolerances or special diets.

Hydrothermal Areas

The frequency of cleaning and disinfecting has been increased in all areas, with an emphasis on surfaces which are frequently touched. Sauna, steam and other hydrothermal areas will observe occupancy limits and distancing guidelines.  Chairs and loungers are spaced apart and guests are encouraged to shower prior to using bathing facilities.

Enjoying your day

From beachside Tai Chi to yoga within lush gardens, there are a number of ways to enjoy your day.   Pools are split into lanes for distancing and participation in group classes is limited to ensure distances can be observed.  Pool hygiene is strictly observed.   Watsu services are currently unavailable.

Activities and Treatments

All are welcome at our group activities such as stretching, yoga and pilates, which are occurring throughout the day. Most are complimentary, and can be recommended based on your interests and ability.  Numbers are limited to ensure appropriate distancing.

Dining

The sea-facing Taste of Siam restaurant offers an indoor or outdoor breezy choice to suit everyone.   Guests are encouraged to sanitise their hands before and after dining.  Service offered is à la carte, and cutlery is delivered in a folded kit.  Common areas are sanitized hourly.  Staff are using protective equipment and seating is arranged to support physical distancing.

In-Room Dining

If in-room dining is your preference, staff will not enter the guest room and trays will be carefully place outside the door. The in-room dining menu will be newly printed for each guest.

Health & Wellness Services

Doctors, Naturopaths, therapists and trainers will wear face shields or masks when providing services.  Particular attention is paid to linen and commonly touched surfaces within a treatment room.  Treatment start times will be staggered to reduce density in changing and hydrothermal areas.  All treatment rooms are deep-cleaned between use.

On-site Nursing Team

Chiva-Som’s nursing team is available 24-hours a day.  In the event a guest feels unwell or suffers any respiratory symptoms, the nursing staff will advise and if necessary, coordinate with a local hospital.  Additionally, Chiva-Som can conduct the COVID 19 Rapid Antibody test.

Staff Team Readiness

Our staff team have been comprehensively trained in the used of preventative equipment and hygiene practices.  The temperature of staff and suppliers is taken daily.  Furthermore, staff who are physically touching guests are routinely tested for COVID-19 and housed in independent facilities.

After the first few days, you may already be feeling the benefits of your wellness transformation. You will be comfortable with your routine, sleeping well, relaxed and enjoying your treatments.
