This Detox Retreat is the answer when you know your body is congested with over indulgence and the stresses and strains of modern life. Well known for its gentle effectiveness the Chiva-Som cleansing diet, a light fruit, vegetable and juice fast is included in all stay and will help clean your body of toxins. Specially selected herbs and vitamins that increase the ability of the body to detox are also provided.
There are many benefits of a detox. After a few days your digestion will feel lighter, your head clearer and your energy on the way to full restoration. Not everything can be rebalanced in 5 days, but the experience of the detox will show you how easy it is to rejuvenate even at home.
Other treatments such as Chi Nei Tsang (the abdominal massage), Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Herbal Detox Supplement and Detoxifying Balneotherapy will help your body detox by stimulating the digestive system and detoxifying organs such as the liver, kidneys and skin. After detoxing you can look forward to enjoying Chiva-Som’s spa cuisine, which allows your body to adjust to a healthier way of eating for the future.
Pre-cleansing Preparation Tips Prior to Arrival at Chiva-Som
preparations at least 3 days prior to your arrival. These simple guidelines will ensure that you are well primed to engage in our cleansing diet regimens and promote a more effective cleanse once at the resort.
- On rising drink 1 large glass warm water with ½ lemon or whole fresh lime.
- Eliminate all stimulants including tea, coffee, chocolate, alcohol and soft drinks.
- Try to refrain from smoking, we have therapists at the resort to help you.
- Avoid all meat and by-products from animals and poultry.
- Replace the above with more fish, nuts, seeds and fermented products; eg, tempeh, tofu, sauerkraut.
- Avoid pasteurised dairy products from cows including milk, cheese and yoghurt.
- Increase salads and steamed vegetables with simple light dressings.
- Make fresh dressings with combinations of:
- Cold-pressed organic oils; eg, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, sesame oil or walnut oil
- Lime juice or apple cider vinegar
- Tahini or miso
- Maple syrup or organic honey
- Enjoy smoothies for breakfast; eg, blend various combinations using a selection of ingredients from following list:
- Berries (fresh or frozen), banana, papaya or pineapple
- Water and flesh of 1 small coconut or 1 scoop protein powder
- 1 tbsp organic coconut oil, sesame oil or flaxseed oil
- 1 tsp spirulina or mixed super greens powder
- 1 tbsp lecithin powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp acidophilus (probiotic) powder
- Sprinkle of cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp raw cocoa powder (70%+)
- Add water, fresh apple juice or coconut water for desired consistency
