The wellbeing of people and our planet is intertwined. It’s the duty of all of us to be responsible for the preservation of the Earth we share. We take our sustainability policies seriously, continually improving our performance in energy and water efficiency, minimising our waste and delivering on these at every touchpoint of our guests’ experience. Our policies also focus on improving the quality of life of the communities we work with, encouraging environmental, economic and social change.
Examples of energy-saving consumption?Aircon? Fridges? Heating? Re-use towels/sheets? We employ new technologies and alternative, renewable energy in our ongoing efforts to decrease dependency on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. We’re working proactively to attain carbon neutrality across all our resorts.
We make constant efforts to reduce our water consumption by employing water-saving technologies and smart irrigation systems. Waste water is carbon and sand-filtered for plant irrigation and replenishing resort lake levels. We also harvest rainfall.
We use recycled materials wherever possible such as FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) wood products and biodegradable packaging. Other plastics, glass, metal and paper products are sent to local recycling centres. Organic waste is converted into animal feed for local farmers and compost for our gardens.
We design and build our resorts for minimum impact on the biodiversity of our local terrains. We use natural resources from our surroundings and propagate trees and plants. At Chiva-Som Hua Hin and Zulal Wellness Resort we volunteer for the preservation of nearby mangroves, and educate our guests and staff about their huge biological value.
We support economic growth in our communities by hiring and sourcing locally as far as we can. We also contribute to social welfare and cultural conservation schemes with fundraising and sponsored events. We’re conscious to share our commitment to reducing our environmental impact with guests, staff, suppliers and our neighbourhoods.
We believe personal wellness goes hand-in-hand with environmental wellness and that companies should conduct themselves using responsible and ethical business practices, policies and initiatives. That’s why, since opening in 1995, we have nurtured a healthy, safe and vibrant community, operated as an integral part of Hua Hin and played our part in protecting the Earth.
