Vital Genomic Test
The Vital Genomic test looks at the ways in which your genes interact with your diet, lifestyle choices, and environment, and how those interactions can affect your health. With this information, we can provide personalised recommendations for diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes that can help you achieve your health and wellness goals.
Based on your results, our genomic consultant and wellness team will work with you to draw up a personalised programme of diet, exercise, sleep, detoxing and skincare that suits your genetic make-up.
The comprehensive report includes:
- The genetic efficiency for vitamin, mineral, toxin, and hormone metabolism
- Your ideal proportion of fats, carbohydrates and proteins
- Your most suitable type of exercise
- Your metabolism and ease in losing weight
- Your ideal sleep regimen
- Your ideal skin regimen
Longevity Genomic Test
The Longevity Genomic test also looks at the ways in which your genes interact with your diet, lifestyle choices, and environment, and how those interactions can affect your health, as well as the health of your offspring. For example, you may have a genetic predisposition for diseases such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes, cancer and heart disease. Testing provides for peace of mind, and also proactive management of your health and family planning. Our wellness specialist with advanced knowledge in genomic testing and health counselling will go through the results with you and help devise a suitable approach to your wellness goals.

Discover Your Health Potential
Genomic testing shows how your genes interact with diet, lifestyle and environment, like stress and pollution. It helps identify your genetic risk for complex diseases, such as diabetes, asthma, certain cancers, dementia and heart disease. This risk can be influenced by your environment, diet and lifestyle. Knowing your predispositions can help you make healthier choices and prevent future diseases.
Personalise Your Nutrition Plans and Dietary Choices
Genomic testing reveals how your body processes vitamins, minerals, and nutrients. This helps determine if you need more of them to support your health. For instance, you might require higher levels of vitamin D, which aids in bone health and calcium balance. Every individual absorbs, transports, and utilises nutrients differently. Genomic results can guide you in creating a diet that meets your specific nutrient needs.
Optimise Your Fitness Performance
Genomic testing can provide insight into various aspects of exercise and fitness. For example, some people are natural athletes, cycling cross country, or running marathons. In contrast, others have difficulty adapting to a regular fitness routine. Research has shown that your DNA explains the root of these differences. Knowing your genomic responses to exercise, you can adjust your physical activities to optimise the health benefits.
The Genomic Testing Process
Guests can book and take a test anytime during their stay. All that’s needed for the test is to swab inside the mouth - this will be done by a Chiva-Som nurse. The tubed sample will then be dispatched to a specialist lab for processing – normally taking 3-4 weeks.
The results are then interpreted and relayed to guests by specialists trained in genomics and health counselling. For guests who return home prior to receiving the results, a video call will be arranged.
Working with the wellness team, a bespoke programme is then created to accurately recommend suitable exercise and sleep protocols, treatments, as well as advise on optimising nutrient intake and other lifestyle choices - aligned precisely with the genetic findings.
Test results will also be available via a secure PDF document sent by email and an online app is available for convenient and on-going reference.
The Benefits of Genomic Testing at Chiva-Som
Conducting genomic testing at Chiva-Som provides numerous benefits for our guests. Our medical experts are available to provide professional interpretation of the test results, which can be used to individualise and optimise wellness programmes for each guest. Furthermore, our expert consultants have access to guest records and programmes, which enables them to modify advice based on the genomic test results. This ensures that guests receive the most personalised and effective guidance possible. Upon returning to the resort, guests can also benefit from ongoing support for their wellness programme using the results from their genomic test.
How Genomic Testing Works
Your genetic code, or genome, contains the instructions to create every part of the body, similar to the blueprint used to build a house. Genomic testing allows us to look at your entire genome and determine what is made from your genes. This is done by mapping out your genetic code and comparing your unique sequence with large databases to predict various health-related outcomes, such as diabetes or heart disease risk, your ability to metabolise toxins and medications, and even what type of diet fits you best.
The Difference Between Genetics and Genomics
Often, genetics and genomics refer to the same thing; your genes. However, the genetic tests for rare and inherited genetic diseases typically test for the presence of one or a few genes associated with a specific disease. In contrast, genomic testing looks at the entire genetic code to determine not only disease risk but the interactions between your genes and diet choices, lifestyle behaviours, and even the impact of the environment on health and wellbeing.
